I have been finding a lot of inspiration lately in the words of others. I thought I would take this time and share some of the thoughts and insights on life that I've been cherishing.
"Worrying does not empty tomorrow of its troubles. It empties today of its strength." - Corrie Ten Boom
Isn't worrying contagious? It all too easily convinces us to dwell on things we can't even change, either in the past or in the future, when all we really can control is every moment of the present. Live in the now.
"If the path be beautiful, let us not ask where it leads." - Anatole France
I think too often we worry about where life is taking us, and in doing so, miss out on all the special moments that make up the journey. The final destination is not important. But what is special is the difference we make and the lives we touch along the way.
"My pain may be the reason for somebody's laugh. But my laugh must never be the reason for somebody's pain." - Charlie Chaplin
I think this speaks for itself. Laughter is not worth the temporary merriment if it brings someone else misery.
"Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray." - Rumi
We make life a lot more complicated than it needs to be. A lot of time and effort are spent getting and spending, owning and losing, fighting and hating. Why not just find the people you love and the things that you love doing, and hold onto those? If you are seeking happiness and contentment, rather than material things, you're more likely to succeed in your search.
What inspires you?
